T4SEfinder: A Bioinformatics Tool for Genome-scale Prediction of Bacterial Type IV Secreted Effectors Using Pre-trained Protein Language Model
|
Numerous pathogenic bacteria employ Bacterial type IV secretion systems (T4SSs) to translocate type IV secreted effectors (T4SEs) or protein-DNA complexes which are helpful for their survival inside eukaryotic hosts cells or killing surrounding competing bacteria. Therefore, the identification of T4SEs is critical to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms. Here we developed T4SEfinder to rapidly predict T4SEs with the simple input of query protein sequences in the FASTA format. T4SEfinder will contribute to meet the increasing demands of re-annotating secretion systems and effector proteins in sequenced bacterial genomes.
